Driving to work seems like a sweet distant memory—partly because many of us, myself included, are working from home these days. On the road, I drove according to a set of principles that I learned and that are required by law—Upon arrival at the destination, I comport myself in a similar manner; according to the set of learned principles.
This scenario assumes an environment that is about applying principles set forth in existing codes, i.e. dress code, code of ethics, International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes (Code), for example.
Working in an environment that aims to implement quality indicators, as stipulated in the BFHI/BFI program leads us to consider the application of the Code, among other things. Some may even see it as a way of passing on information about professional responsibility for the application of the Code, in their work setting.
Let's look at the analogy by going back for a moment to the car trip. Certainly, in order to apply the principles of safe driving; there is a transmission of information, learning through practice, and verification of acquired knowledge and skills. So that the conduct on the road is as expected, as per the Code relevant to this purpose.
In a related sense, this suggests that the principles that make up a Code are learned, practiced, and verified. Perhaps, as is the way of teaching the implementation of the Code. On this point, I have been privileged to find along the way, bits of stories to tell.
This leads me to share a few things that have been brought to my attention as being useful for this purpose. Such as:
