August-Two events at the beginning of this month set the tone for this post. One a summer show at the water’s edge, and the other, the annual theme of World Breastfeeding Week.
The first one; music and lyrics resonated. In the sense of the character of what echoes in the mind, in the heart of someone. In fact, the inspiration came when the artist took a moment during the performance to offer their thanks to the audience. Suggesting that the conversation flow be sustained by the attention given to the show.
The second is self-evident since the theme addresses education.
Both are reminiscent of a back-and-forth: the establishment of communication in both one direction and the other. The same is true of the ambiance of an infant feeding educational activity day. Voilà, a built-in component of implementing programs such as the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI)/Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI).
It is a privilege for actors involved in such implementation to participate in knowledge transfer activities. Where the trainer and the multidisciplinary team surrounding the families in the perinatal setting are involved in an exchange of skills and practical knowledge.
The attention paid to each other during these activities certainly nourishes the capacity to modulate both the tone and the rhythm of discussion by taking into account the different interactions; notably to ensure that the content resonates amongst the participants. This flexibility could then have an effect on the care provided. And foster quality and skill building in a way that is tailored to fit the family’s style.
The resonance of a training activity may have a normative conduciveness in terms of supporting each family in reaching their nursing goal.
