Une image vue dernièrement a suscité l’élan de ce titre.

La représentation : Des tricoteuses. Assises, les unes aux côtés des autres à confectionner de quelconques lainages en entrelaçant les mailles avec des aiguilles. Il faut dire que, dans mon coin de pays, on a coutume de tricoter, en laine, des vêtements et couvertures pour l’arrivée de bébé.

Être présents à de tels événements de la vie, comme l’arrivée de bébé, semble s’offrir naturellement à ceux et celles qui travaillent dans le domaine de la périnatalité. Autant que semble s’offrir l’occasion de prendre part aux activités d’enrichissement professionnel pour les personnes qui travaillent à l’instauration de programmes qualité comme l’IHAB/IAB ; participer à une formation qui expose une manière sensible et respectueuse de convenir à la dyade mère/parent-bébé qui pourrait se trouver dans une situation inopportune pour prendre soin du bébé. Lorsque le parent est alité, pour une condition de santé, par exemple. Voilà qui pourrait retenir l’attention de l’auditoire qui est de l’activité de transmission de connaissances et de savoir-faire.

Dans un tel contexte, le parent pourrait ressentir un besoin, à la fois informationnel sur la gestion de la douleur, ainsi que de maintes périodes de repos. Le fait de prêter une qualité à la relation de réciprocité mère-nourrisson même quand la mère est importunée par l’alitement a été considéré par certains comme un geste attentionné. De la même manière que l’appui émotionnel donné en soutien à la confiance parental lorsqu’une autre personne est amenée à apprendre à reconnaître les signaux de faim, besoin de téter et autres besoins du bébé. Et, lorsqu’une autre personne aura le soin de déterminer le moment opportun pour l’allaitement. L’allié aidera le parent alité non seulement à y répondre, mais aussi à établir un contact visuel avec le bébé, lui sourire, lui parler et à le toucher.

Certaines mères ont besoin de l’aide de cet allié pour l’allaitement et les soins au bébé. Elles pourraient aussi avoir besoin de temps additionnel pour assimiler l’information fournie lors du séjour à l’unité de soins de périnatalité et se sentir en confiance pour le retour à la maison.

Se montrer sensible à la situation particulière de la dyade tout en soutenant les interactions parent-nourrisson et son allié renforce certes la relation parent-nourrisson. Et, lui soit sans doute source de réconfort, tel un doux lainage confectionné en entrelaçant les mailles avec des aiguilles ; pour l’arrivée de bébé, vêtement et couverture de laine, traditionnellement issus d’alliés de la dyade mère/parent-nourrisson.
