Upgrading Staff to ES02 from ES01
If you have any staff enrolled in ES01 who would like to take ES02 instead, we are happy to transfer them, free of charge, to the new course. You will need to email us before April 30th, 2022 to take advantage of this. We recommend this for staff who have not yet begun ES01 or have only just begun and are happy to start over in the newer course.
What happens to staff currently enrolled in ES01?
If you have staff who are part-way through their ES01 course, they are able to continue to access their course until the end of May 2022. ES01 will officially be retired 31 May, 2022.

Is ES01 still ok?
ES01 still contains all the vital information required as per Baby-Friendly standards - so you don't need to be concerned that staff who are part-way through are not getting the required information. We recommend that you start getting both ES01 and ES02 staff ready for the newer skill competencies.

Some terminology around the Ten Steps is changing. In the US in particular, many of the new steps come into play for those designating in 2023 and beyond. Contact your national BFI Accreditor if you are unsure about changes to BFI in your country.
