Le temps alloué

Mettre du temps de côté pour lire.

Une activité enrichissante, à la fois, au travail, comme aux loisirs.

Certains ont peut-être le privilège de se trouver dans un environnement de travail qui impartit du temps à la lecture : une occasion d’acquérir de meilleures connaissances par le biais d’activités individuelles ou collectives.

Grâce à ces nouvelles acquisitions, les membres de l’équipe se voient souvent motivés à mettre en pratique une approche innovatrice. Une observation courante, dit-on, au sein d’une équipe qui travaille à la mise en œuvre de programmes tels que l’IHAB/IAB.

Pour faire allusion aux activités axées sur le développement des compétences, voici un court extrait. Tel que remémoré :

Les membres de l’équipe d’une unité périnatale ont participé à une activité de transfert de connaissances.

Ils ont renforcé leurs compétences en matière de counseling et ont acquis des connaissances sur la façon d’aider un parent à exprimer le colostrum à la main, y compris les aspects techniques et non techniques de l’expression du lait ; comme l’approche multisensorielle.

À leur retour à l’unité, tous aspirent à faire l’essai des connaissances nouvellement acquises. - Aider les dyades dans la pratique de l’expression du lait maternel. Une dyade à la fois, en fonction de la situation actuelle de celle-ci.
Dans une de ces situations, la dyade avait été séparée. Du temps a été offert pour converser et aider à l’expression du lait. Le membre de l’équipe s’est souvenu de ce qu’il avait appris : le réflexe d’ocytocine est stimulé en réponse à la vue, au toucher ou au son du bébé.[1]

Poussé par la situation actuelle (réunir la dyade était irréalisable à ce moment-là) et l’intention d’aider, le membre de l’équipe a développé une pensée créative. Il a quitté la pièce après avoir gentiment informé le parent qu’il allait s’absenter brièvement. Et, est revenue, quelques minutes plus tard, tenant une petite couverture.

Nul besoin ressenti de détailler le geste ni d’indiquer d’où provenait la couverture. La communication a été momentanément, principalement non verbale. Des mots tels que « certains ont trouvé cela aidant » ou « placée près de votre oreiller ou à un endroit qui vous semble naturel » ont teinté la pièce.

En substance, non seulement cette séance de counseling a laissé le parent et le membre de l’équipe avec un sentiment de confiance, mais elle a également favorisé un environnement engagé dans la préservation du temps alloué à la lecture, pour une pratique améliorée.
