De tous les professeurs, les enfants sont “mes” meilleurs. –
C’est un discours qui est tenu par plusieurs, de ma génération.
Et, pour ce qui est de celle [la génération] qui suit la mienne : sans doute, meilleurs connaisseurs en matière d’allaitement.
C’est peut-être vrai que, jeune, cette génération a assimilé la gestualité de l’allaitement par la pratique. À supposer que le modèle familial suffisait à cette fin.
Par exemple, j’ai en souvenir l’image de jeunes de cette génération s’affairer à jouer avec une poupée : La bercer, l’habiller, la caresser doucement du bout des doigts au contour du visage, la consoler en lui chuchotant des mots doux à l’oreille et la placer en position d’allaitement. Sur ce dernier point, les souvenirs se dessinent diversement quant à la façon dont la poupée est placée, c’est-à-dire la position d’allaitement. Soit debout, soit couché, ou assise. Au parc ainsi qu’au verger, la poupée semble naturellement à sa place, stable, dans les bras de l’enfant.
Regardons d’abord le lien de ce qui précède par rapport à l’implantation de programmes qualité tel : IHAB/IAB. À savoir, le modèle.
Il est à noter que la transmission des compétences en matière de soutien à l’allaitement, notamment en ce qui a trait au savoir-faire, s’effectue par le biais d’accompagnement d’un mentor ; une personne d’expérience. Du moins, de ce qui peut en être déduit des observations.
Cette personne d’expérience forte de son savoir et d’expérience acquise par un parcours professionnel est certes, communément désignée à la tâche — voire à servir de modèle aux nouveaux venus. La composante directionnelle étant de l’ancienne au débutant, classiquement.
Puis, le temps passe, les générations se succèdent. Éventuellement, la nouvelle génération se joint à l’équipe de soins à l’unité néonatale. Et, le travail de transfert de connaissances relatif à l’aide à l’allaitement continue ; l’ancienne met son savoir-faire au service du débutant. Cette fois, l’apprentissage pratique semble se faire naturellement, comme si le débutant avait aidé la mère| le parent à trouver une position confortable pour l’allaitement, depuis toujours.
Le savoir-faire se développe aussi par le modèle d’une génération précédente.
