The Step2 Team had a great time last month, all coming together in Brisbane, Australia, for 3 days. As we work primarily online, delivering online services in Baby Friendly Education, we do not have a central office, and are based all over the country (and world)!
Our get-together started on Monday with a workshop planning how we were going to support our growing number of client hospitals and their staff as the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative gained momentum around the world. It's a responsibility that we take seriously, and the whole team enjoyed planning how we could expand to accommodate this growth and continue to provide the very best services and courses.
After Kelly, our Client Services Officer, cooked us a wonderful feast for dinner that night, we all felt very motivated and inspired for the days ahead! Tuesday brought with it a relaxed morning of answering emails and enquiries - we can't take a day off even when travelling - followed by a team lunch at a Teppanyaki Restaurant. Here are some pictures:
Tuesday afternoon brought with it a big website re-design planning workshop. We recently surveyed our Facilitators and Students to see what changes they would like to see in our website, and we took onboard many of these suggestions and throughts in our planning session.
With a new website, we hope to make access to education even easier for staff, and more enjoyable for everyone. We understand that for many staff Baby Friendly is mandatory education, so we want to inspire them to enjoy it as much as possible! Hopefully, after experiencing our new website (which we hope to release in a few months), many more staff will be encouraged to participate in online education and to engage in Baby Friendly ongoing eduacation to assist their organisations in maintaining their Baby Friendly Accreditation.
Here are a few pictures of our workshop:
Our final day together on Wednesday was very busy and we tried to fit in all the other planning that we needed to get done while all together. Our Techie, Jeff, ran an interesting session about our technical systems, which is the backbone to our business. While our focus is on Baby Friendly Education, none of it would be possible unless we are able to continually develop and build special services to help us get our education into the heads of our students! Technology is how we are able to do this - and we're lucky to have such a good team working on continually building these systems.
Overall, we came away from our team get-together with a lot of motivation and inspiration to put into providing the very best services and very best courses to the Hospitals and Health Organisations striving towards their Baby Friendly Education. It's a very exciting time to be involved in this initiative and we're so proud to be Leaders in the Baby Friendly industry!
